Welcome to the store!

We've finally gone and done it - launched our own shop!  This was always part of the plan since the first product - however like all good ideas it's taken some time to come to fruition.

Lots of things planned for the site - but over the next half year here's what you're going to see:

The main crux of our site is to focus on generating pre-order support for titles from you, the fans!  So we want to create good reasons for you to support us directly, apart for the reason it means nobody takes a cut off it so we can re-invest more of the money in for our nefarious schemes.

First thing on this road is offering pre-order prices that rival, if not every so often beat, that of our friends in retail.  We'd never take an insane advantage over folks but if you print the product, where's the use if you don't offer some comparable savings where possible?

Right now - we're pondering what could give you, the fans, even more reason to buy from us direct!  We've a few cool ideas like some freebies each month but want another few months to iron that proposition out for you before we set it loose.

We're big on experimentation so long as it benefits you, the fans.  So we've got a few ideas we've either seen piloted on other genres / media or that we just think sound pretty nifty that we'll try over the next year.  Some are predictably seasonal - others are just good natured.

Watch this space on that one - we're always open to extra ideas too!

As you'd expect too - we'll have monthly deals as well on the go to give you even more reason to check in, along with our latest unboxing shots among other things!

Hope you like what you see folks and as ever, feel free to fire any feedback our way!

Updates - December

The festive season is upon us and for the very first time our store is around for it!  So we thought how better to celebrate our second Christmas in existence than by running some promotions and deals!

We thought long and hard about it and came up with a way to keep our esteemed president busy and came up with “The Twelve Days of Andrew drawing DVD covers”.  For those that remember, he did this for Gurren Lagann before and given the high quality, we feel some kind of support group is needed for those who see them.  This is going to take the form of a special offer per day!

Starting on Thursday the 4th of December until the 16th - we’ll be running a deal a day along with his artwork!

Each day a new deal will start at 09:00 and run until 18:00 in the evening - it’ll be a deep discount (at least 50% off the SRP) and all stock will be non-returnable and all sales final (unless damaged in transit etc, normal consumer rules of course apply).  Shipments will go out the next business day via Royal Mail unless otherwise upgraded.

Here’s a breakdown of the start end end titles to whet people’s appetites ;).

1. Thursday the 4th of December - Cowboy Bebop (Blu-Ray standard collection) -> SRP: £39.99 | Sale Price: £??.??
2. Friday the 5th of December - ???
3. Saturday the 6th of December - ???
4. Sunday the 7th of December - ???
5. Monday the 8th of December - ???
6. Tuesday the 9th of December - ???
7. Wednesday the 10th of December - ???
8. Thursday the 11th of December - ???
9. Friday the 12th of December - ???
10. Saturday the 13th of December - ???
11. Sunday the 14th of December - ???
12. Monday the 15th - Kill la Kill (Blu-Ray Collector’s) -> SRP: £59.99 | Sale Price: £??.??

Note - Kill la Kill Collector’s Edition is the remainder stock from MCM London so is 0.4 seconds out of synch on Episode 4 of the English dub track.  This is the only reason it is in the line-up and is a clearance on stock we couldn’t get discs changed.

Anyone buying it will receive an email before purchase is finalised reminding them of this as exchanges / replacements etc are not possible so you’re buying it knowing that!

We’ll also be mailing a lucky-dip money off voucher to everyone who buys during the campaign after.  On it will be a unique discount for between 5% and 25% off and one very lucky £100 voucher.

Sorry folks - due to shipping costs etc, it’s only open to people within the UK & Republic of Ireland in this case!

Excluding Kill la Kill (where all shop copies sent out were perfectly fine so don’t qualify), we’ll send you all a voucher for the difference between the sales price and the actual from the shop.  Purchases must have been made from our shop and between the 1st of November until the 27th of November.

WHAT WILL BE IN THIS PROMOTION (i.e. should I cancel my pre-order for anything)?

Anything out in December (Space Dandy, Patema Inverted etc) won't be in the promotion!  Likewise November items like Kill la Kill will stay out of it too except for the copies with the 0.4 seconds out of sync :).

Outside of that anything else is game and could come up so watch this space....

Well we’d be lying if we said nothing - there’s a few presentational surprises for the packages too as they’re sent so watch this space ;).

Also - keep an eye for New Year’s day as we’ll have something special going on there too with a chance to win some cool prizes too so watch this space ;).

Updates - November

It's pretty incredible - when we started this shop it was an experiment really, we wanted to see if there were cool ways to interact with you guys and things we can do that are not just selling through other retail.  Basically - we figured there's cool stuff we can do that doesn't take away from ordering on Amazon but adds to the experience as well as being able to offer you a chance to buy direct.

This kind of thing requires a two year plan - the first phase was meant to last for a year (til May next year) where we tested if there was even a demand and getting the system smooth.  The former part we've already ticked the box for - the second we're still improving on daily (nobody's perfect, but we're trying our best to get there).

So with that in mind here's a few of the things we've done in the background in the last two weeks globally:

- Activated a Payment Gateway - meaning you can pay directly with a credit card, no need for PayPal if you don't want to.

- Tightened up the back-office a bit.

- Working on setting up fulfilment partners so we can get stock out to folks quickly every time as opposed to any trouble on orders.

We've also added some new products:

- Time of Eve: Collector's Edition (Film)
- Attack on Titan OST
- Garden of Words (Blu-Ray but DVD will follow)

We've also altered our policies on:

- Pre-orders: To avoid any issues with authorisation going forwards - we'll be putting pre-orders up one week before release and payment will deduct automatically to avoid any issues.  So 1 week before any release they'll go up and we'll shout it out.

- Shipping: With our new fulfilment partner coming up - things are changing a wee bit.  UK stock will go out via Royal Mail from early December onwards (December 8th) and we'll ship international stock from our offices directly.  UPS will still be used for international but due to costs being hard for us to absorb the international rate will go to a flat fee of £15 from now onwards we're afraid to cover costs there.

What's coming up?

We're currently thinking about our first real promotion over the run up to Christmas - we'll have a bit more detail soon but either a 12 days of Christmas style Steam discount or a promotional give-away competition is very likely on the cards!  Watch this space and any ideas you have also are welcomed...

Catch you all soon folks!

* For products we're allowed to ship outside of the UK :).
